IS GRACIE/PETER DE BEEN JIU
JITSU?
'Gracie'
Jiu
Jitsu is a form of martial art that focusses on grappling (wrestling)
and submissions. It was developed by the Gracie
family in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in the early part of last
century.
It
is considered one of, if not the most, effective forms of fighting in
the world and has been tested in many reality combat events. It is
currently experiencing a world-wide explosion in
popularity.
Peter de
Been, who trained in Brazil with Carlos
Gracie Jnr, is now one
of the few third generation Black Belts in the world. He
continues to train and compete on the International stage with notable
success. His Melbourne school and it's many offshoots experience great
success throughout Australia He trained Australia's first
World
Champion, Michael Wilson (Absolute Blue Belt World Champion).

JIU
JITSU AT THE ARENA
Daniel Ward,
our Head Jiu Jitsu Instructor, has
been training with Peter
de Been for 10 years and he is
currently a Brown Belt. He has
had much success in competitions including gold at the Pan Pacific's.
He has travelled to Brazil and spent a month training at the
5th time
World Champion Gracie
Barra's Club, in Rio.
Jiu Jitsu
training at The Arena takes place in a
relaxed environment. The emphasis is on friendly competition and the
development of your Jiu Jitsu skills.

Congratulations
Mr Ward!! As of 30 November, Daniel was awarded his brown belt. This was
approximately eight years in the making, so we're all flushed with pride.

COSTS:
Your first two classes are free, no obligations,
no strings! If you choose to continue the class fees are as follows:
- Direct
debit - $80 per month plus $3.30
account keeping fee for both classes
- Direct
debit - $60 per month for 1 class per
week plus $3.30 account fee
- $100 per term per child (short first term
-$75.00).
- Yearly
payment (12 months) $900.00
- Due
to
administration difficulties payment cannot be may on a per class basis
